At 16, Aku is undergoing a transformation after his escape from Darklight City and intense training. He is becoming stronger and more resilient, learning to survive in a hostile world while avoiding the Mandalphe authorities who are hunting him. His encounter with two mysterious figures, Daï and Okami, provides him with essential knowledge and broadens his view of the world. Now, Aku ventures through diverse landscapes, discovering freedom and forging a new identity, while continuing to learn and prepare for the dangers ahead.
But beyond his simple quest for freedom, a new purpose emerges in Aku's mind: the search for the world's greatest mythological treasure, an ancient legend passed down through generations in the forbidden stories his mother once told him. This treasure is not merely material wealth, but a mysterious power that could upset the balance of the planet. Fascinated by this legend since childhood, Aku gradually realizes that his quest is not just about his desire for escape or adventure, but is deeply tied to his own destiny.
As he explores ancient ruins and collects fragments of forgotten stories, Aku begins to feel a strange connection to this myth. Through his encounters and discoveries, he learns that he is a very special boy, closely linked to this mythological legend. His origins, until now shrouded in mystery, are slowly revealed to be connected to an ancient secret capable of changing the course of history. He then understands that his personal quest and the search for the greatest treasure in the world are one and the same, and that he holds a key that could either free the world from Mandalphe's oppression or unleash even greater chaos. His mission takes on a much larger scope, and each step brings him closer not only to the truth, but also to his true role in the history of the world.
